Located within the Zara Dead Sea Master Plan, the Zara Mountain Village is a mixed-use development consisting of 119 Apartment Buildings and Townhouses with integrated commercial facilities of various sizes, layouts and styles totaling approximately 98,000 m².

The site’s steep inclinations have been utilized to afford the majority of residential units’ views of the Dead Sea. The residential buildings are clustered around a series of single and double story commercial buildings that cascade down the hillside. Various meandering pedestrian paths and steps wind through the development to provide access and create a pleasant mountain village feel, forming intermittent pockets for recreation along the way. Within this context, the residential units are further arranged into a hierarchy of sub groups or ‘communities’ around shared leisure facilities including swimming pools. The use of setbacks and accessible terraces and rooftops is encouraged to provide private outdoor areas to all units. The buildings within the Mixed-Use Village are laid out in a manner that suggests incremental development up sloping paths that do not exceed 10%. The Village layout is enforced by the articulation of the urban/massing edges along these paths in addition to vertical articulation of the rooftops.

The first phase of the Mixed-Use Village consists of 85 Apartment Buildings and Town Houses with integrated commercial facilities of several layouts, sizes and styles with a total built-up area of approximately 68,000m². And the second phase of the Mixed-Use Village 2 that consists of 34 Apartment Buildings and Town Houses with integrated commercial facilities with a total built-up area of approximately 30,600 m².
